Dear OSD Students:


Happy New Year!  We hope that you had a restful holiday break and that you are ready to start the Winter Quarter.


As we do each year, we invite you to recognize any of your professors, OSD liaisons, teaching assistants, or other campus staff members who have been particularly helpful or accommodating during the past calendar year.  Please email your recommendations to jboval@ucsd.edu no later than Friday, February 2.


Several organizations are offering scholarships to students with disabilities.  Check out these opportunities!


  • The Orion Fund provides grants for college students in medical crisis or who have large, unexpected medical bills or co-pays. Information and an application may be found at theorionfund.orgDeadline: February 22, 2018
  • The Gilman International Scholarship Program enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad. Applications for summer and fall program funding are being accepted now.  See gilmanscholarship.org for more information and deadlines.
  • College students with low vision are encouraged to apply for the Scheigert Scholarship offered by the Council of Citizens with Low Vision International. More information and applications may be found here: http://cclvi.org/scheigert-scholarship. Deadline: March 15, 2018
